Booty Camp Diary: Challenge accepted

Now that I’ve completed my fourth week of Booty Camp, it’s time to step it up a little bit. So this 8-week challenge posed by Sammie Kennedy, the creator of Booty Camp Fitness couldn’t have come at a better time! Here’s the gist of it:

Cut out:

1. Refined sugar

2. Dairy

3. Alcohol

Add:

1. One big salad everyday

2. 45 minutes of activity everyday

3. 1 minute of belly breathing everyday

For all the details of the challenge, click here.

I’ve also created a list of 25 reasons why I’m participating in the challenge (which I’ll be sharing with you later) so when my motivation is low, I can look at the list as a reminder why I’m doing this. I think the hardest part will be cutting out the refined sugar because I LOVE candy, but I’m not a big drinker and I stopped drinking milk a few months ago (although I’ll probably miss cheese and yogurt a lot too).

What surprised me about this challenge was my initial reaction to it. Right away I thought, “That’s too hard. I can’t do that.“…but what kind of talk is that when I’m writing a fitness blog?? So, if you’re sitting there reading this thinking it would be too hard, then think again! Even if you’re too late to sign up for Sammie’s challenge, I encourage you to think of something you can reward yourself with at the end of eight weeks and go for it. And let me know how you’re doing!

I also signed up and am finding the big salad daily hard. So if I miss it, I eat a ton of cut up veggies, usually peppers, carrots, broccoli and cucumber.

The sugar is surprisingly no problem for me, but I didn’t eat much sugar to start with.
