Don’t worry, my booty camp “after” picture and measurements are coming soon! But onto, my next challenge!
Something I’ve learned about myself recently is that I’m not a competitive person against other people, but I’m super-competitive against myself. So I’ve signed up for another fitness milestone, the 30-day Bikram yoga challenge. Starting on August 1st (so this is my fourth day of the challenge) I will do a 90-minute hot yoga class everyday for a month at the Bikram yoga studio on Queen street east, check them out: www.bikramyogatoronto.com.
Day 1: I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to complete the entire class without a break (I must be in better shape from all that booty camp!). There was about 7 other people in the class so there was a lot of breathing room (and the class didn’t get too hot).
Day 2: This was the real test of my commitment because this class landed on the August 2nd holiday so there was only one class at 10am. The class was packed so the room got way hotter than the day before and I was glad to be doing the class in a bathing suit (because you really do sweat that much!).
Day 3: Today was another challenging day because I had to attend the 9:15 class in order to make it to a lunch date with lovely Lisa from Booty Camp. Even though I’m done, I still can’t get enough of these wonderful ladies!
Day 4: Today! I tried to drag myself out of bed for the 9:15am class again but ended up sleeping in and going to the 12pm class instead (I’m lucky to have the time to do the challenge this way since I’m in the middle of a job search). I almost let myself skip this class because I’ve also got an aerial silk class with Natalie at 6pm tonight, but I took it easy and sat down a lot throughout the class so I wouldn’t be too over-worked by this evening.
Things I’ve noticed so far:
I’m finding it difficult to drink a lot of water and eat enough throughout the day, and it’s especially hard to drink enough water before a morning class. And, I think this is making me more *ahem* disagreeable than usual. Anyone have any tips for consuming enough water throughout the day?

I think this challenge sounds awesome, I mean, who doesn’t want to be a yoga goddess! Good luck with it. I bet you will be addicted to hot yoga after.
