Feel like the season is getting the better of you, rather than you getting the benefit of it? Here’s some tips to help you stay mindful to enjoy ever bit of this season:
- Write a gift wish list – not things you want to consume or purchase, but things to believe in, things to hope for.
- Unclutter your card & gift list; don’t send or buy things for those that you don’t have a genuine interest in. If you haven’t called or talked to them since last season, ask yourself if you really feel what you’re writing, wishing, and are genuine with what you’re giving.
- Don’t feel obligated to write things like “looking forward to seeing you in the New Year” or “would love to catch up soon” unless you really mean it.
- If you’re going to spend any money on actual cards at all – why not give back and get them from a charity, and if possible – eco-friendly ones? They benefit everyone involved!
- Help save the planet even more by sending an e-card (much easier than actual cards, cheaper, and you can cover those people you’re on the fence about – if you can’t cross them off!)
- In lieu of material gifts, put your spirit and effort into donating money to a charity in need on behalf of friends and loved ones.
- …With all the time you’ve managed to save, indulge in a moment or two for yourself and appreciate the stress you’ve avoided!
